Relatively weak ridging over the western Atlantic will maintain moderate to fresh trade winds over most of the region into Sun. Weak ridging building ahead of Florence across the SW N Atlc and into the eastern Gulf of Mexico Sun will allow fresh to strong E to SE winds and building seas over portions of the NW Caribbean late Sun and Mon. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A weak pressure pattern across the SW N Atlc will maintain gentle to moderate mainly easterly winds across the area through Mon. Easterly swell from Hurricane Florence has reached 65W today as indicated by 41043 and 41049 will move into the open waters east of the Bahamas late Thu through Sun. Hurricane Florence is currently well east of the area near 24.6N 48.6W, moving NW at 9 kt. Maximum sustained winds 90 kt gusts 110 kt. Looking ahead, Florence will change little in intensity as it moves to 28.0N 59.5W Mon morning, and continues moving NW through Tue.
