A surface trough has shifted off the Yucatan peninsula into the SW Gulf. Latest surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds over the SW gulf in the vicinity of the trough. Gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 2-4 ft range. A ridge will dominate the Gulf waters into the weekend and support gentle to moderate winds. A surface trough will develop each evening over the Yucatan Peninsula before moving W and offshore into the SW Gulf overnight. A surge of moderate to fresh NE to E winds will accompany this trough each night. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest surface observations indicate fresh to locally strong winds over the south central Caribbean, moderate to fresh winds over the north central and eastern Caribbean, and light to gentle winds over the western Caribbean. Over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones, moderate to fresh winds prevail. Seas are in the 6-8 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 5-6 ft over the north central Caribbean, 3-4 ft over the western Caribbean, and 3-5 ft over the eastern Caribbean. Seas in the tropical N Atlc forecast zones are in the 4-7 ft range. Nocturnal winds will pulse to fresh to strong winds in the south- central Caribbean the next several nights.
