A surface trough has shifted off the Yucatan peninsula into the SW Gulf. Latest surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds over the SW gulf in the vicinity of the trough. Gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 1-3 ft range. A surface trough will develop each evening over the Yucatan Peninsula before pushing offshore into the SW Gulf. A surge of moderate to fresh NE to E winds will accompany this trough. Otherwise, a ridge will dominate the Gulf waters supporting gentle to moderate winds and seas 4 ft or less. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the south- central Caribbean, fresh winds over the north- central Caribbean, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere across the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Seas are in the 7-8 ft range over the south- central Caribbean, 6-7 ft over the north- central Caribbean, and 3-5 ft elsewhere across the Caribbean waters. Over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones, seas are in the 4-6 ft range. The fresh to strong winds will prevail in the south- central Caribbean through Wed before diminishing. Gentle to moderate winds will prevail elsewhere. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Latest surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds N of Hispaniola and the entrance to the Windward Passage. Elsewhere, S of 25N, winds moderate to fresh winds prevail, and N of 25N, gentle to moderate winds prevail. Outside the Bahamas, seas are in the 4-6 ft range S of 25N and 3-4 ft N of 25N. West of the Bahamas, seas are in the 1-2 ft range. High pres will prevail across the area through the forecast period, supporting moderate to fresh winds S of 24N and gentle to moderate winds N of 24N.
