A surface trough will develop along the western Yucatan Peninsula during the late afternoons, then drift westward during the overnight hours and dissipate along 96W during the late mornings. The trough will support moderate to locally fresh NE to E winds in the eastern Bay of Campeche every night. Otherwise, high pres NE of the region will support gentle to occasionally moderate SE to E winds over the basin the next several days. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Fresh to strong winds will prevail at night in the south-central Caribbean with the strongest winds along the coast of Colombia where winds may increase to near gale force. Seas will be in the range of 8 to 10 ft during that period. Otherwise, a tropical wave along 85W will continue to support scattered showers and tstms in the NW and SW Caribbean through Sat night. A second tropical wave along the Mona Passage will move across the central basin Sat enhancing isolated showers in Hispaniola. A new tropical wave is expected to move across the Lesser Antilles Tue night to Wed bringing showers to the E basin. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... The remnants of a weakening stationary front will transition to a surface trough on Sat morning. Showers and isolated tstms will continue NW of the northern Bahamas through Sun when the trough is forecast to move across Florida before moving into the E Gulf of Mexico. Similar convective activity is forecast for the remainder area W of 70W being enhanced by an upper level low and diffluent flow aloft. Weak surface ridging will prevail elsewhere supporting light to gentle variable winds E of the Bahamas and moderate to fresh E to SE winds W of the Bahamas.
