An approaching tropical wave is advecting scattered showers over W Cuba and the Straits of Florida. The Bay of Campeche has similar showers due to another tropical wave. The remainder of the Gulf has fair weather. The pressure gradient across the Gulf supports light to moderate winds throughout. In the upper levels, an upper level high centered over southern Texas is producing NE upper level winds over the Gulf with upper level moisture. A surface trough will develop along the western Yucatan Peninsula during the late afternoons, then drift westward during the overnight hours and dissipate along 96W during the late mornings. The trough will support moderate to locally fresh winds in the eastern Bay of Campeche every night. Otherwise, high pres NE of the region will support gentle to occasionally moderate SE to E winds over the basin the next several days. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... An upper-level low is centered near the Cayman Islands at 18N82W. The low is enhancing scattered showers near the upper-low center, together with a tropical wave along 81W. Strong nocturnal wind pulses are forecast along the coast of Colombia N of 11N and Gulf of Venezuela with seas building to 10 ft through Tue. The tropical wave along 81W will continue to move west across the western Caribbean through Sat. A second tropical wave along 63W will move across the E Caribbean today and Sat and the central Caribbean on Sun. A third wave over the central Atlc will reach 55W on Sun. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Scattered moderate convection is north of 28N and west of 76W associated with a stationary front. The stationary front extends from 31N77W to central Florida and will gradually transition to a surface trough through tonight. The trough will then drift NW and inland over the SE CONUS by late Sat. Outside of thunderstorms, light to gentle winds will prevail N of 26N, while mainly moderate to locally fresh winds will prevail S of 26N the next several days.
