Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

A ridge extending extends westward from the Atlantic into the 
northern Gulf. Latest surface observations indicate gentle to
moderate winds over the western gulf, and light to gentle winds
elsewhere. Seas are in the 3-4 ft range over the SW gulf, 2-3 ft
over the NW gulf, and 1-2 ft elsewhere. The ridge will prevail 
across the basin through the weekend. A nocturnal trough will 
move off the Yucatan Peninsula into the SW Gulf each night, 
accompanied by surge of fresh NE to E winds. 

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

High pressure prevails N of the area. Latest surface observations
indicate moderate to fresh winds over the central Caribbean, and
light to gentle winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 5-7 ft range
over the central Caribbean, and 3-4 ft over the remainder of the
Caribbean. Seas over the tropical N Atlantic are in the 4-6 ft
range. The ridge will prevail N of the area and maintain fresh 
to occasionally strong trade winds over the south- central 
Caribbean through the weekend. Moderate to fresh trades are 
expected elsewhere. 

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

Latest surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds S
of 25N and light to gentle winds N of 25N. Outside the Bahamas, 
seas are in the 5-6 ft range S of 25N and 3-4 ft N of 25N. West
of the Bahamas, seas are in the 1-3 ft range. High pres will 
prevail across the region through the weekend.
