A thermal trough will develop over the Yucatan Peninsula from the early evenings to overnight hours during the next several days. A surge of fresh to occasionally strong winds will be associated with this trough. The northern extent of a tropical wave, analyzed as a surface trough, has reached the SE Gulf. This trough is forecast to move westward over the SE Gulf tonight and Wed while dissipating. Otherwise, high pressure ridging will prevail across the area through the week. A frontal trough may push slowly into the NE Gulf from the SE United States this weekend. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Gale force winds will pulse in the Gulf of Venezuela and NW of the coast of Colombia tonight and again Wed night, due to a tight pressure gradient between high pressure N of the area over the SW N Atlantic, and low pressure over northern Colombia. Similar winds are possible Sun night when the gradient tightens again. Fresh to strong trades will prevail elsewhere in the central Caribbean. Winds will pulse to fresh in the Gulf of Honduras through the remainder of the week and into the upcoming weekend, reaching fresh to strong Wed night and Thu night. A strong tropical wave is forecast to reach the waters E of the Lesser Antilles late Thu, moving across these islands on Fri.
