Locally developing surface troughs over the Yucatan Peninsula will produce fresh winds over the eastern waters of the Bay of Campeche from the early evenings to overnight hours during the next several days. The northern tip of a tropical wave may clip the Straits of Florida and southern Gulf through mid-week. Otherwise, high pressure ridging will prevail across the area through the week. Gentle to moderate E to SE winds and seas of 3 ft or less will prevail, except 2 to 4 ft in the SW Gulf. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Fresh winds will pulse in the Gulf of Honduras the next several days except fresh to strong Thu night. Fresh to strong winds in the S central Caribbean will expand in coverage while also intensifying slightly due to a tightening pressure gradient. High pressure ridging over the SW N Atlantic will sink S slightly while low pressure over northern Colombia deepens slightly. A gale warning is now in effect for the Gulf of Venezuela Tue night, with gale conditions possible Wed night. Gale force winds are also possible NW of the coast of Colombia on Wed night and again Thu night, where winds will pulse and peak near gale at other times. A tropical wave will move across the central Caribbean through the early part of the week with numerous showers and thunderstorms, some with gusty winds. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... The remnants of a backdoor cold front will linger across the waters E of 70W as a trough through the week with weak low pressure possibly developing along it before dissipating Fri. High pressure ridging will develop S of this boundary, extending from NW to SE, eventually settling from E to W along 27N by the end of the week as the troughing finally dissipates. Winds will pulse to fresh to locally strong near the northern coast of Hispaniola each night through Thu night, with slightly weaker winds thereafter.
