Latest surface observations indicate light to gentle winds over the NW Gulf, with gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 1-2 ft range in the SW Gulf and 2-3 ft elsewhere. A trough over the northern waters will slowly weaken through Thu. High pressure will build across the northern waters in the wake of the trough. Elsewhere, a surface trough will move off the Yucatan Peninsula into the Bay of Campeche each evening, accompanied by moderate to fresh nocturnal winds. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the south central Caribbean, light to gentle winds over the NW Caribbean, and moderate to fresh winds over the remainder of the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Seas are in the 6-8 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 1-2 ft over the western Caribbean, 4-5 ft over the eastern Caribbean, and 5-6 ft over the north central Caribbean. Over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones, seas are in the 5-7 ft range. Fresh to strong winds will prevail in the south- central Caribbean, while gentle to moderate winds are expected elsewhere, with the exception of light to gentle winds over the western Caribbean the next couple of days.
