Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

Latest surface observations indicate fresh to locally strong
winds over the NE Gulf, moderate to fresh over the SW Gulf, and
gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 5-6 ft range
over the NE Gulf, and 1-3 ft elsewhere. A cold front will move 
over the northern Gulf waters through Wed. The front will become 
stationary and weaken to a trough by Thu. Elsewhere, a surface 
trough will move off the Yucatan Peninsula into the Bay of 
Campeche each evening, accompanied by fresh nocturnal winds. 

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

Latest surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over
the south central Caribbean, light to gentle winds over the
western Caribbean, and moderate to fresh winds over the remainder
of the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast zones.
Seas are in the 6-8 ft range over the south central Caribbean,
3-4 ft over the western Caribbean, and 4-5 ft over the remainder
of the Caribbean waters. Over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones,
seas are in the 5-6 ft range. Fresh to strong winds will 
continue to prevail in the south- central Caribbean, with gentle
to moderate winds elsewhere the next several days. 

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

Latest surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds
prevail over the forecast waters. Outside the Bahamas, seas are
in the 3-5 ft range. West of the Bahamas, seas are in the 1-2 ft
range. A ridge of high pressure will dominate the area much of 
the forecast period, with a surface trough reaching the E part of
the region by Thu.
