Weak high pressure ridge across the Gulf along 25N will continue throughout the week. Active convection is expected across the northern Gulf during the next several days as troughing will meander along the N Gulf coasts east of 90W. A surface trough will move off the Yucatan Peninsula into the Bay of Campeche each evening, accompanied by fresh nocturnal winds. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... High pressure over the central Atlantic will support strong to near gale force winds in the south-central Caribbean for the next several days. Nocturnal winds will increase to gale force near the coast of Colombia late tonight in between tropical waves moving through the basin. Broad zones of SAL will dominate in between tropical waves. Current broad wave approaching Lesser Antilles embedded in deep SAL, however widely scattered tstorms seen in stlt imagery today firing along leading edge of moisture and will be capable of producing squalls and strong wind gusts. Wave models continue to be about 1-1.5 ft low across the Atlc with wind surges accompanying these waves. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Strong high pressure over the central Atlantic will build westward into the Bahamas through Thu and remain in place through Sunday. This producing anticyclonic flow around ridge with fresh E to ESE trades south of 22N and fresh SSW flow across NW waters and beyond ahead of slow moving cold front approaching mid Atlc coast.
