Latest surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds over the SE Gulf with light to gentle winds over the remainder of the Gulf waters. Seas are in the 1-2 ft range over the NE gulf and 2-3 ft over the remainder of the Gulf waters. High pressure will meander across the northern Gulf waters through Fri. A surface trough will move westward off the Yucatan Peninsula each evening, and enhance nocturnal winds over the SW Gulf, through Fri. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest surface observations indicate strong to near gale winds associated to the remnant tropical wave of Beryl over the NE Caribbean. Elsewhere,fresh to strong winds are noted over the south central Caribbean, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Over the tropical N Atlc forecast waters, moderate to fresh winds prevail. Seas are in the 8-11 ft range over the NE Caribbean as well as the south central Caribbean. Elsewhere, seas are in the 6-8 ft range over the north central Caribbean, 4-5 ft over the western Caribbean, 4-6 ft over the eastern Caribbean, and 7-10 ft over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. The remnants tropical wave of Beryl are located across the E Caribbean. Gale force wind gusts will move across the Caribbean waters south of Puerto Rico and Mona Passage today through this evening before weakening across and south of Hispaniola tonight through Tue. Elsewhere, strong tradewinds across south central portions will decrease ahead of the tropical wave tonight through Wed then increase to just below gale force off Colombia by Thu night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Latest surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the waters S of 22N as well as over the northern waters south of Tropical Storm Chris, which was centered near 32.2N 74.5W at 11 AM. Elsewhere gentle to moderate winds prevail. Seas are in the 8-10 ft range over the regions of strongest winds. Elsewhere outside the Bahamas, seas are in the 4-7 ft range. West of the Bahamas, seas are in the 1-3 ft range. Chris will meander offshore of the Carolina coasts through early Tue while strengthening slowly, then begin to shift northeastward away from the area Tue afternoon. Associated winds and swell will affect far NW waters through Tue evening.
