A surface trough will move westward off the Yucatan Peninsula each evening, and enhance nocturnal winds over the SW Gulf, through Fri. A tropical wave will reach the Yucatan Peninsula Thu and move across southwest portions of the Gulf Thu night through Fri. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... The remnants of Tropical Storm Beryl are located across the NE Caribbean near 16N63.5W moving WNW at 20 kt. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 kt with gusts 40 kt. Beryl has weakened to a sharp trough, or tropical wave, and will race WNW across the Caribbean around 20 kt through Wed. Gale force wind gusts are expected through late afternoon near and across the N semicircle of the old vortex as it moves across the NE Caribbean waters and south of the Virgin Islands early this morning, then passes just south of Puerto Rico and Mona Passage today through this evening, before weakening across and south of Hispaniola tonight through Tue. Deep convection and possible stronger gusts and brief very heavy rain will shift WNW across the NE Carib islands today. Extensive area of SAL N through E of Beryl remnants will allow for squalls.
