A surface trough in the NE Gulf will move westward across the northern Gulf waters, reaching the coast of Texas Sat. High pressure will build over the northern waters in the wake of the trough this weekend. A tropical wave will move across the Yucatan today and through the southern Gulf tonight through Sat. Otherwise, A surface trough will move westward off the Yucatan Peninsula each evening, and enhance nocturnal winds over the SW Gulf, through Tue. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Newly upgraded Hurricane Beryl near 10.6N 45.1W 995 mb at 0900 UTC moving W at 12 kt. Maximum sustained winds 65 kt gusts 80 kt. Beryl has been trying to maintain a pinhole eye the last few hours, and also depicted in 04Z AMSR2 pass. Beryl is expected to move WNW today through Sun, and will gradually be overtaken with tropical wave behind it approaching 40W attm, and very broad zone of SAL, then also encounter upper shear as it approaches the Lesser Antilles, which should produce a quick weakening trend due to the very small size of this system. Beryl expected to reach near 11.7N 48.6W Fri night, near 13.6N 54.4W Sat night as it weakens to a tropical storm, then reach the Lesser Antilles near 15.4N 61.9W Sun night, before entering the eastern Caribbean early Mon and weakening to a strong tropical wave. This remnant tropical wave will continue westward across the eastern Caribbean Mon night and Tue. Elsewhere, gale force winds within 90 nm of coast of Colombia this morning will diminish below gale before noon, and expected to increase to just below gale force each night through Sun night.
