Weak high pressure extending across the northern gulf will shift slowly southward through Fri. A trough moving off the W coast of the Yucatan Peninsula each night will enhance nocturnal winds over much of the southwestern gulf waters through Sun. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A tropical wave along 74W S of 20N will move into Central America and the Yucatan Peninsula by Fri evening. A vigorous high amplitude tropical wave near the Cape Verde islands will track across the tropical North Atlantic on Sat, and enter the eastern Caribbean Sun. This wave will have high moisture content as well a NE to SE wind shift during passage. The gradient between high pressure over the western Atlantic and lower pressures over South America and the Caribbean will maintain strong trades over the central Caribbean, reaching near gale force off the coast of Colombia at night. Wave model guidance suggests seas will build to a maximum of 14-15 ft through Thu before slowly subsiding to around 12 ft Fri through Sun. Outside the fresh to strong trade coverage, E swell will produce seas of 8-11 ft between 70W and 83W through early Fri, then slowly subside to 9 ft thereafter.. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...
