Weak high pressure extending from the central Atlantic westward across the northern gulf will shift southward to the central gulf by Fri. A weak surface trough extends from near 28N84W to 24N85W. The trough will weaken as it moves westward to across the central gulf waters through Wed. A trough moving west off the W coast of the Yucatan Peninsula each night will enhance nocturnal winds over much of the southwest gulf waters through Fri. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms present over much of the eastern gulf are associated with a weak surface trough that extends from near 28N84W to 24N85W. The trough is forecast to continue to move westward to across the central gulf waters over the next 24 to 48 hours while weakening. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A series of tropical waves will move westward across the tropical north Atlantic and Caribbean basins during the next several days. High pressure over the western Atlantic will support increased winds and seas over the region, reaching near gale force off Colombia mainly at night through Wed. Numerous thunderstorm clusters confined to the southwestern section of the seas are being enhanced by the strong E winds converging onto the monsoon trough segment that reaches from the eastern Pacific eastward to roughly along 09N and to the coast of Colombia at 10N75W. Expect for this activity to persist through the week. Frequent lightning and gusty winds are possible with the activity. Seas of 8 ft in E swell over the tropical N Atlantic waters south of 18N will decay to less than 8 ft by early Wed. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...
