Weak high pressure ridging extending from the southeast gulf waters to Texas will drift to over the northern gulf early next week. Southeast return flow will increase over the western Gulf between the ridge and weak low pressure over northern Mexico beginning tonight. A trough moving west off the western coast of the Yucatan Peninsula each night will further enhance overnight winds over much of the southwestern gulf waters. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A tropical wave along 87W S of 19N will move across the remainder of the northwestern Caribbean and inland central America by this evening. Another tropical wave over the central Caribbean near 73W will exit the western Caribbean Tue night. The combination of this wave with an upper low located over the eastern section of the Dominican Republic is resulting in numerous thunderstorms over the waters north of 16N between 67W- 72W, while scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are present north of 17N between 64W-72W. This activity is capable of producing strong gusty winds as was noted in a ship observation that indicated 30 kt near 17N71W this morning. The low and wave will move westward very close in tandem through Mon. As this happens, the shower and thunderstorm activity will shift to the northeast part of the eastern Caribbean while decreasing in coverage some. A third tropical wave approaching Barbados will move across the Lesser Antilles this evening and over the far eastern Caribbean tonight into early Mon. It is then forecast to move across the rest of the eastern Caribbean through Mon night, across the central Caribbean Tue through Wed night, and across the western Caribbean Thu and Thu night. Yet a fourth tropical wave will approach the far eastern part of the tropical N Atlantic waters Tue, move across remainder of the tropical N Atlantic through Wed night, and through the eastern Caribbean Thu and Thu night. Trade winds over the south central Caribbean will strengthen and expand in areal coverage across just about the entire area as the gradient between the third tropical wave and central Atlantic high pressure that builds westward intensifies. Model guidance indicates that winds may reach near gale force along the coast of Colombia tonight. Seas to 8 ft in NE to E swell from 08N to 11N between 46W-50W will spread westward to just east of the Lesser Antilles by early Sun, and begin to shrink in coverage Sun night through Mon night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...
