A strong surface trough extending from near 26N93W to 20N96W will move west-northwestward through tonight accompanied by scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms, some of which will produce rough seas and strong gusty winds. A tight pressure gradient between the trough and Atlantic high pressure will support fresh to near gale force southeast winds over the central Gulf waters through early this afternoon. The trough will move inland over Texas tonight. The gradient will support fresh to strong southeast winds over much of the western sections of the gulf into Tue before diminishing to mainly fresh winds through Thu as weak high pressure across the northern gulf slides southward. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A tropical wave near 70W will move across the remainder of the eastern Caribbean tonight, the central Caribbean Sun through Tue and the western Caribbean Tue night through Thu. Another tropical wave will move across the waters E of the Lesser Antilles tonight through Mon night, the eastern Caribbean Tue through Wed night, then central Caribbean thereafter. Strong trades across the central Caribbean between 69W and 83W will slowly diminish through tonight.
