Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

A surface trough across the Bay of Campeche and western Gulf
will shift slowly WNW through Sat, accompanied by widespread
convection. The pressure gradient will tighten in association 
with this trough, and produce freshening SE winds across W 
central portions today, becoming fresh to strong SE to S winds 
over the weekend. GFS indicates increased SE flow by Sat to 
25-30 kt in association with Yucatan thermal trough combining 
with persistent troughing. Expect significant area of 25 kt and 
seas to 11-12 ft Sat afternoon but likely could see 30 kt. 

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

A tropical wave along 80W will move westward into Central
America through Sat. A tropical wave along 60W will reach the
Windward Islands tonight, and move into the central Caribbean
this weekend. Strong trades across the central Caribbean between
70W and 85W will diminish this weekend.

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

A ridge along 26N will drift southward through Sun as a weak
cold front sweeps eastward across the waters north of 25N.
Moderate easterly winds are expected south of the ridge. Gentle 
to moderate southerly flow north of the ridge will moderate to 
fresh southwestly flow ahead of the front this weekend.
