Weak high pressure extends west across Florida and to the north central Gulf along 27.5N and is producing fresh SE flow west of 90w. Morning obs showed max seas downstream of 6 ft at 42020 and also at 42055 accompanying Yucatan thermal trough from last night. This thermal surface trough will develop along the Yucatan Peninsula late each afternoon, and drift westward across the southwest Gulf during the overnight hours with the trough dissipating along 96W during the late mornings. The pressure gradient will tighten during the middle of the week in association with a tropical wave currently in W Caribbean, which will move across the Yucatan Peninsula tonight through Wed and across the Bay of Campeche and SW Gulf on Thu. Associated llvl flow will be decidedly SE to S at that time and advect the wave energy and moisture NW towards Texas. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A tropical wave moving across the far western Caribbean is interacting with an upper level trough to produce very active weather east of 85W through tonight. A second tropical wave enter the eastern Caribbean this morning will move through the central Caribbean on Wed and Thu. A third tropical wave will move through the tropical waters east of Windwards on Wed, and enter the east Caribbean on Thu. Strong trades across the south-central and southwest Caribbean will spread north across the central Caribbean on Wed and further west late in the week. Locally strong trades will continue across the tropical waters east of the Windwards through early Wed. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A broad ridge extends from the central Atlantic will meander between 27N and 29N through Thu, then shift south on Fri and reach along 24N on Sat allowing a weak cold front to move into the northern waters. Fresh to locally strong winds are forecast along the northern coast of Hispaniola during the late afternoons and evenings through Wed, with moderate easterly flow forecast elsewhere south of the ridge.
