An upper trough will meander over the E Gulf of Mexico through Wed and continue to enhance showers in the region. A surface trough will develop along the Yucatan Peninsula late each afternoon, drift westward across the southwest Gulf during the overnight hours accompanied by a fresh east to southeast wind shift with the trough dissipating along 96W during the late mornings. Model guidance suggests that the pressure gradient will increase Wed night as an area of low pressure develops just east of the Yucatan Peninsula. This scenario will lead to the development of fresh to strong winds in the NW Yucatan Peninsula adjacent waters continuing to early Thu. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A tropical wave will continue to move west through the central Caribbean reaching the SW Caribbean waters on Tue and the NW basin on Wed. A tight pressure gradient enhanced by the tropical wave and an a trough of low pressure near Nicaragua will support strong trades across the south-central and southwest Caribbean through Fri. Strong winds will spread north across the central Caribbean Wed night, continuing through Fri. The surface trough will also support strong trades in the Gulf of Honduras from Tue night through Wed night. Otherwise, a second tropical wave will enter the east Caribbean on Tue supporting strong trades in the SE basin Tue night through Thu morning. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... The Atlantic subtropical ridge will continue to extend westward across the region supporting southerly light to moderate winds in the windward side of the Bahamas. Strong high pressure associated with the ridge will lead to enhanced trades along the northern coast of Hispaniola every night during the forecast period. $$ .WARNINGS...Any changes impacting coastal NWS offices will be coordinated through AWIPS II Collaboration Chat, or by telephone: .GULF OF MEXICO...
