A mid to upper low is centered over the northeast Gulf, supporting clusters of showers and thunderstorms across the east central Gulf of Mexico from 24N to 27N east of 90W. Winds are fairly light across the Gulf with 1 to 3 ft seas. The mid to upper low will persist for a few more days, supporting occasional convection over the eastern Gulf. Weak ridging will persist over the northern Gulf into early next week. Moderate to fresh SE return will set up over the northwest Gulf by late Sun between the ridge and troughing west of the area. A surface trough will develop along the Yucatan Peninsula each evening, then drift westward in the the southwest Gulf at night. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... An broad upper trough reaching from the eastern Gulf to the northwest Caribbean is interacting with a tropical wave moving into the western Caribbean, supporting an area of thunderstorms near 19N84W, and scattered convection over Nicaragua. Much drier conditions persist over the far eastern Caribbean and tropical north Atlantic west of 55W. High pressure north of the area is supporting fresh to strong trade winds off northeast Colombia and northwest Venezuela, and moderate to fresh trade winds elsewhere. The fresh to strong trades will persist in the central Caribbean with winds near gale force, mainly at night, off Colombia and Venezuela through early next week. Fresh to strong winds are expected in the Gulf of Honduras through Sat night. Moderate to fresh trades will prevail elsewhere through early next week. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Ridging extends along 28N toward northeast Florida is supporting generally light to moderate SE winds north of 22N, and moderate to fresh easterly winds south of 22N.
