A trough extends from the Florida panhandle to the central Gulf. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds prevail across the area. Seas are in the 1-3 ft range. The trough will weaken through Fri evening. A ridge will set up from the Florida Big Bend to the Texas Coastal during the upcoming weekend, and then persist into early next week. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the central Caribbean, gentle to moderate over the western Caribbean, and moderate to fresh winds over the eastern Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast waters. Seas are in the 8-10 ft range over the central Caribbean, 4-6 ft over the western Caribbean, 5-6 ft over the eastern Caribbean, and 6-7 ft over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Atlantic high pressure will maintain the fresh to locally strong trades across the Caribbean generally south of 18N east of 80W through the upcoming weekend, with highest seas of 10 ft off the northwest coast of Colombia. Large northeast swell will reach the tropical waters east of the Virgin Islands tonight, and reach the northeast Atlantic Passages on Fri night into Sat, with seas then subsiding from the east on Sun and Mon. Broad low pressure will develop across the southwest Caribbean early next week. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... High pressure prevails over the forecast waters. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the waters south of 25N and moderate to fresh winds north of 25N. Outside the Bahamas, seas are in the 6-8 ft range south of 25N and 4-6 ft north of 25N. West of the Bahamas, seas are in the 1-3 ft range.
