A broad surface low pressure area is centered over the SE Gulf. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds over the NE Gulf and gentle to moderate elsewhere. Seas are in the 2-3 ft range. The area of low pressure will slowly move northward across the eastern Gulf of Mexico during the next few days, enhancing rainfall across the E Gulf. Winds and seas may be higher near thunderstorms. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the south central Caribbean, gentle to moderate winds over the western Caribbean, and moderate to fresh winds over the remainder of the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Seas are in the 7-8 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 3-4 ft over the western Caribbean, and 5-6 ft over the remainder of the Caribbean. Over the tropical N Atlc waters, seas are in the 6-8 ft range. The fresh to strong trades will continue to prevail over the south- central Caribbean through Sat. NE swell will maintain seas around 8 ft over the waters E of the Windward Islands through early today. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... High pressure prevails over the forecast waters. Elsewhere outside the Bahamas, seas are in the 5-6 ft range S of 25N and 3-4 ft N of 25N. West of the Bahamas, seas are in the 1-3 ft range.
