High pressure prevails over the northern Gulf. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds over the SE Gulf, and gentle to moderate elsewhere. Seas are in the 3-5 ft range over much of the eastern half of the Gulf and 2-4 ft over the western half of the Gulf. The ridge will shift northward while surface trough amplifies over the SE Gulf today. Low pressure will develop along the trough W of Florida on Mon and slowly move NW, moving inland over the SE United States by midweek. Showers and thunderstorms will affect the Gulf waters near and E of the low. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong trades prevail over the south central Caribbean, gentle to moderate over the western Caribbean, and moderate to fresh over the remainder of the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Seas are in the 7-8 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 6-7 ft over the north central Caribbean, 3-5 ft over the western Caribbean, and 4-6 ft over the eastern Caribbean. Over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones, seas are in the 5-8 ft range. The fresh to strong trades will prevail over the south- central Caribbean through Thu. NE swell will maintain seas around 8 ft over the southern portion of the tropical N Atlc forecast waters until Mon. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A surface trough extends from near 31N70W to west central Cuba. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds prevail.
