High pressure prevails over the northern waters. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds over the SE Gulf, with gentle to moderate winds prevailing elsewhere. Seas are in the 4-6 ft range over the SE Gulf and 1-3 ft elsewhere. The ridge over the northern waters will lift northward this weekend as a surface trough develops over the eastern Gulf. Low pressure will develop along the trough early next week and lift northward into the SE United States by midweek. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the south central Caribbean, gentle to moderate winds over the western Caribbean, and moderate to fresh across the remainder of the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Seas are in the 7-9 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 3-4 ft over the western Caribbean and 4-5 ft elsewhere. Seas over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones are in the 5-7 ft range over the northern zones and 7-9 ft over the southern zones. The fresh to strong trades will prevail in the south- central Caribbean through next Wednesday. NE swell will bring seas to 8 ft over the southern portion of the tropical N Atlc forecast waters through the weekend. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A surface trough extends from near 31N71W to the central Bahamas. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds over the southern waters and light to gentle winds elsewhere. Outside the Bahamas, seas are in the 5-6 ft range over the southern waters and 3-4 ft over the northern waters. West of the Bahamas, 1-3 ft seas prevail. The trough will lift NW this weekend.
