A second reinforcing cold front will enter the NE Gulf tonight, then dissipate Tue morning. High pressure building over the Gulf in the wake of the fronts will support gentle to moderate N to NE winds through Tue night. Winds over the basin will gradually veer to SE by Thu night as the high shifts E. On Fri, the high will enter the western Atlc but ridge W across the northern gulf waters and maintain moderate E to SE winds over the basin. A weak thermal trough will move over the eastern Bay of Campeche from the Yucatan during the morning then dissipate during the afternoon each day beginning Wed. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A surface trough extending S from central Cuba to just N of Panama will dissipate by Thu. An upper-level trough stretching from eastern Cuba to Nicaragua will gradually shift ESE over the Caribbean and weaken. The trough will move out of the eastern Caribbean into the tropical Atlc Tue night. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms can be expected on the SE side of the trough before it exits the basin. The area of fresh to strong winds to the S of Hispaniola continues to contract as the high pressure ridge to the N weakens. A relatively light wind regime will remain in place over the basin through Fri as the high pressure ridge to the N remains weakened by low pressure systems moving E from the United States. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A weak cold front entering the far NW waters will slowly move SE and reach from near 31N77W to western Cuba by early Mon afternoon, then from near 31N74W to the central Bahamas to west- central Cuba early Tue. This front will be reinforced by a second weak cold front moving SE from Florida and Georgia tonight. Fresh to strong southerly winds will precede the front N of 27N through Tue evening. The combined front will stall over the northern Bahamas and weaken Wed and Thu, then dissipate Fri. Weak high pressure will move SE from the United States to near 31N75W Thu night then to near 31N70W Fri. The high will merge with a high pressure ridge extending WSW from the Azores over the western Atlc on Sat.
