A dissipating frontal boundary extending from Straits of Florida southwest across the Yucatan Channel to the NW Gulf of Honduras will drift eastward through Sun morning. High pressure of 1020 mb over the NW gulf extends a ridge southeastward to the Straits of Florida. The high pressure over the northwest Gulf will track to the northeast and inland on Sun. It will move east off the Georgia coast on Mon with the ridge extending west-southwest across the northern gulf waters through Thu. A mid-level disturbance over the NW gulf is producing areas of rain and scattered showers over that portion of the gulf. This feature and its associated weather will quickly reach the northeast portion of the gulf tonight, then shift east of the area early Sun. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A trough extending from the northern Gulf of Honduras northeastward to just south of far western Cuba will drift eastward across the NW Caribbean through Sun as the remnants of a dissipating cold front that extends from NW Cuba to the NE Yucatan Peninsula slowly move across the Yucatan Channel and reach the far NW Caribbean by early Sun. The trough will dissipate by Sun evening. Atlantic high pressure will maintain fresh trades across the entire area south of 17N, with locally strong trades across S central Caribbean along the north coast of South America through Thu. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A weak cold front extending from 31N76W south-southwest across the Straits of Florida and to along the NW coast of Cuba will merge with a trough that extends from 31N72W to just NE of the Bahamas tonight. The front will extend from near Bermuda to the central Bahamas by Sun night. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms along and east of the front will shift eastward through Sun night. Some of this activity may contain strong gusty winds. A cold front will enter the NW waters Sun, move quickly eastward and merge with the weak front along a position from near 28N65W to west- central Cuba Mon night, then become stationary from near 27N65W to west-central Cuba by early Wed. Strong high pressure will slide eastward near 31N Mon night through Wed, with the resulting tight gradient between it and the front expected to bringing increasing northeast to east winds to the south- central and southwest waters.
