A cold front extends from low pres near 29N84W to 24N98W. The front will move SE across the southern Gulf through Wed. The front will then dissipate near the Florida Straits on Thu. Fresh to locally strong northerly winds are expected behind the front through Wed morning. A stronger cold front is forecast to come off the Texas coast early Sat with fresh to strong winds preceding it. Strong northerly winds are expected for the most part behind the front, except gale force winds will be possible over the SW Gulf Sat night. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A fairly dry weather pattern remains in place. Mid to upper- level ridging extending northwestward over the basin from South America is maintaining the dry weather pattern with strong subsidence noted over the eastern Caribbean. Fresh to near gale-force winds are forecast in the south-central Caribbean near the coast of Colombia through Wed morning, then will pulse back strong each night beginning Fri night. Fresh to strong winds in the Gulf of Honduras will prevail through tonight then will resume Fri night and continue through Sat night. Moderate to fresh trades will prevail over the remainder of the Caribbean through Sat, except gentle to moderate over the NW Caribbean through Fri. Winds in the NW Caribbean will increase to moderate to fresh Sat ahead of a strong cold front.
