A stationary front extending from near Tampa Bay, FL to the north-central Gulf near 27N90W to the western Bay of Campeche is beginning to lift N early this morning. Southerly moderate winds are ahead of the front in the SE Gulf along with seas in the 3 to 4 ft range. Light to gentle variable wind is in the remainder basin with 2 to 3 ft seas. A second push of cold air and a developing low pressure center along the frontal boundary over the NE Gulf will allow the transition to a cold front Monday evening. The low will move NE across Florida toward the western Atlantic Ocean late on Mon, thus dragging the cold front across the SE Gulf and South Florida by Wed. High pressure building N of the front will lead to the development of fresh to strong N to NE winds west of the front Tue morning through early Wed. The front will dissipate across the Straits of Florida Thu and return flow will establish basin-wide on Fri. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Moderate to fresh trades are across the Caribbean except in the lee of Cuba and in the SW basin W of 80W where winds are light to gentle. Seas are in the range of 2 to 3 ft in the northern half of the basin while 4 to 5 ft seas dominate the waters in the Gulf of Honduras, the south-central and SE Caribbean. Fresh to strong winds in the south-central Caribbean near the coast of Colombia will prevail through Wed morning, then will resume again Fri night. Fresh to locally strong winds are forecast in the Gulf of Honduras tonight and Tue, then will resume Fri night. Moderate to fresh trades will continue through Fri except for the NW basin where gentle to moderate trades will dominate. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extends from 30N64W to 27N73W where it stalls to Cape Canaveral, Florida. Seas increase NE of the Bahamas from 3 to 9 ft in NW swell. The stationary portion of the front is forecast to lift back N as a warm front this morning and connect with a low pres that will move from the NE Gulf of Mexico to South Carolina adjacent waters Mon night. The low will move E-NE on Tue dragging a cold front across Florida through late Wed. The front will then dissipate in the Straits of Florida on Thu. Fresh to strong SW winds and building seas will precede the front.
