Moderate to fresh return flow is across the basin with seas in the range of 2 to 3 ft east of 90W and 3 to 5 ft west of 90W. High pres over the area will continue to weaken through early Sat while it shifts eastward in response to a cold front that approaches the area. This cold front will move across the NW Gulf on Sat, then become stationary and weaken from near Sarasota Florida to Tampico Mexico on Sun night. A second cold front will reach the northern gulf early Tue, then extend from near Ft Myers FL to the central Gulf Wed afternoon, and weaken as it reaches farther south in the southeast gulf late Wed night. Relatively weak high pres will build from W to E across the area behind the front. Fresh to strong northerly winds are forecast behind the front in the NW Gulf with both fronts. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest scatterometer data show light to moderate trades across the basin, except along the coast of Colombia where fresh winds are evident. Altimeter and buoy data report seas in the range of 2 to 3 ft. Fresh to strong winds are forecast to develop in the south-central Caribbean and the Gulf of Honduras on Mon, except winds to near gale force along the coast of Colombia on Mon night. Gentle to moderate trade winds are expected elsewhere through Mon, then becoming moderate to fresh on Tue through Wed night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Light to moderate east-southeast winds are over the region with latest buoy and altimeter data showing seas up to 7 ft. The western portion of the front will lift back to the N as a warm front through early Tue.
