Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the NW gulf as well as west of the Yucatan peninsula. Light to gentle winds prevail over the NE gulf, and gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-8 ft range over the NW gulf, 1-2 ft over the NE gulf, and 4-6 ft elsewhere. High pressure will prevail over much of the forecast waters through Tue. A trough will develop over the Yucatan peninsula each evening and shift westward across the southwest Gulf during the overnight hours. A cold front may move into the NW Gulf late Wed night. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the south central Caribbean, with winds to minimal gale force off the coast of Colombia. Fresh to strong winds also prevail over the windward passage as well as in the lee of Cuba. Gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere across the Caribbean waters as well as the tropical N Atlc waters. Seas are in the 8-11 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 6-8 ft over the windward passage, and 4-7 ft elsewhere across the Caribbean. Over the tropical N Atlc waters, seas are in the 6-8 ft range. High pressure ridge over the western Atlc will support fresh to locally strong trades across the south central Caribbean the next several days. Winds will pulse to minimal gale force along the NW coast of Colombia during the overnight hours. Undersea volcano Kick em Jenny, north of Grenada near 12.18N 61.38W, is in a state of unrest. The government of Grenada advises mariners to observe a 5 km or 3.1 nm exclusion zone around Kick em Jenny.
