Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds west of the Yucatan peninsula, moderate to fresh winds over the eastern Gulf, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 5-7 ft range west of the Yucatan peninsula and 4-6 ft elsewhere. High pressure will prevail over much of the forecast waters through Tue. A trough will develop over the Yucatan peninsula each evening and shift westward across the southwest Gulf during the overnight hours. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate strong to near gale force winds over the south central Caribbean, gentle to moderate winds over the north central Caribbean, and moderate to fresh elsewhere across the Caribbean waters as well as the tropical N Atlc waters. Seas are in the 7-10 ft range over the south central Caribbean and 4-6 ft elsewhere across the Caribbean waters. Over the tropical N Atlc waters, seas are in the 6-8 ft range. High pressure ridge over the western Atlc will continue to support fresh to locally strong trades across the south central Caribbean the next several days. Winds will reach near gale force along the NW coast of Colombia during the overnight hours. Undersea volcano Kick em Jenny, north of Grenada near 12.18N 61.38W, is in a state of unrest. The government of Grenada advises mariners to observe a 5 km or 3.1 nm exclusion zone around Kick em Jenny. Seas are in the 8-10 ft range over the NE waters, 4-7 ft over the remainder of the waters outside the Bahamas, and 1-2 ft west of the Bahamas. The front will gradually stall across the far SE waters this weekend. A reinforcing cold front will drop S of 31N Fri night, with high pressure building in its wake.
