Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the SW Gulf west of the Yucatan Peninsula, moderate to fresh winds over the NE Gulf, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-8 ft range over the SW Gulf in the area of strong winds, 2-4 ft over the NW Gulf, and 5-6 ft over the remainder of the Gulf waters. High pressure will prevail over much of the forecast waters through Mon. A trough will develop over the Yucatan peninsula each evening and shift westward across the southwest Gulf during the overnight hours. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the south central Caribbean, reaching near gale force off the coast of Colombia. Gentle to moderate winds prevail over the NW Caribbean, with moderate to fresh winds prevailing over the remainder of the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Seas are in the 7-10 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 3-5 ft over the NW Caribbean, and 4-6 ft over the remainder of the Caribbean. Over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones, seas in the 6-8 ft range prevail. High pressure ridge over the western Atlc will support fresh to locally strong trades across the south central Caribbean the next several days. Winds will reach near gale force along the NW coast of Colombia during the overnight hours. Undersea volcano Kick em Jenny, north of Grenada near 12.18N 61.38W, is in a state of unrest. The government of Grenada advises mariners to observe a 5 km or 3.1 nm exclusion zone around Kick em Jenny. A cold front extends from 31N66W to central Cuba, ahead of a reinforcing front reaching from 31N69W to western Cuba. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate winds to minimal gale force N of 30N west of the reinforcing front. Elsewhere, N of 27N west of the front fresh to strong winds prevail, with gentle to moderate winds elsewhere west of the reinforcing front. Fresh to strong winds prevail elsewhere N of 27N, with gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 8-15 ft range N of 27N, and 4-6 ft elsewhere outside the Bahamas. West of the Bahamas, seas are in the 1-3 ft range. Winds to gale force ongoing north of 30N will diminish below gale force by this morning.
