A cold front crosses the Gulf from Apalachicola Florida to Tampico Mexico. The front will head SE and pass to the SE of the area Wed morning. High pressure will build over the northern Gulf in the wake of the front, then slowly shift E into the western Atlc by Sun. This will set up a period of return flow from the SE over the Gulf that will last through at least Tue. The return flow could become strong over the western Gulf on Mon. Diurnal heating over the Yucatan will lead to the formation of surface troughs over the peninsula each day. The troughs will then move W over the bay of Campeche. NE to E winds just W of the Yucatan Peninsula could become strong during the afternoon and evening as the troughs emerge from the peninsula over water. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... The high pressure ridge over the western Atlc will be weakened by low pres systems moving E from the eastern United States during the next week. However, the ridge will remain strong enough to support fresh to locally strong trades across the south central Caribbean the next several days. Winds will reach near gale force along the NW coast of Colombia during the overnight hours. Undersea volcano Kick em Jenny, north of Grenada near 12.18N 61.38W, is in a state of unrest. The government of Grenada advises mariners to observe a 5 km or 3.1 nm exclusion zone around Kick em Jenny.
