High pressure prevails over the forecast area. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds over the western Gulf, and light to gentle winds over the eastern Gulf. Seas are in the 4-5 ft range over the SW Gulf, 1-3 ft over the NE Gulf, and 3-4 ft elsewhere. High pressure will continue over the forecast waters through Sunday before retreating eastward. This will enable a cold front to move into the NW Gulf Monday. The front will extend from near the Florida panhandle to Tampico, Mexico Mon evening. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the south central Caribbean, with gentle to moderate winds over the remainder of the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast waters. Seas are in the 7-8 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 4-5 ft elsewhere across the Caribbean, and 7-8 ft over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Fresh to strong winds will continue across the south central Caribbean through early next week. Moderate to fresh winds across the tropical N Atlantic will diminish to gentle to moderate Saturday. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extends from 25N65W to 20N72W. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds over the northern waters with gentle to moderate winds prevailing elsewhere. Outside the Bahamas, seas are in the 8-11 ft range over the NE waters, 4-7 ft over the NW waters, and 6-8 ft elsewhere. West of the Bahamas, seas are in the 1-3 ft range. The front will stall over the SE waters Fri. The stalled boundary will linger over this area through early next week.
