A ridge extending north to south across the central gulf waters will shift east becoming orientated from the Florida Big Bend to Veracruz Mexico this evening as fresh southerly return flow spreads east across the entire Gulf of Mexico by sunrise on Sat. A cold front will move off the Texas coast late Sat night, and race southeast across the entire gulf waters through Sun night passing through the Straits of Florida on Mon afternoon. Strong post-frontal northerly winds in the wake of the front will diminish from the northwest through Mon night. A ridge will extend from northeast Texas to the Straits of Florida on Tue. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Northerly swell, in the form of 7 to 10 ft seas, currently propagating south through the tropical waters east of the Leewards, will gradually subside from the north through tonight. Fresh to strong trades will continue across the entire area east of 80W, except increasing to near gale force during the overnight hours along the northwest coast of Colombia, with the associated seas building to as high as 13 ft. Fresh northeast winds across the northwest Caribbean will clock to the southeast on Sat and Sat night, then diminish to a moderate southerly breeze on Sun ahead of a cold front passing through the Yucatan Basin on Mon morning. The cold front will slow along a position from east Cuba to the Gulf of Honduras on Mon night, and nearly stall from Hispaniola to Nicaragua on Tue. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extending southwest from 28N65W to east Cuba will reach from 23N65W to Windward Passage on Sat, then stall across the tropical waters north of the Greater Antilles on Sat night. Fresh northwest winds in the wake of the front will diminish tonight. The associated seas of 8 to 11 ft will subside from the west through Sat night. Remnants of the front will lift north on Sun ahead of another cold front moving off the northeast Florida coast on Sun night. This cold front will extend from near 31N73W to the northwest Cuba late Mon, and begin slow along a position from Bermuda to east Cuba on Tue. Strong to near gale force southerly flow will develop north of the Bahamas on Sun ahead of the front, with strong to near gale force westerlies forecast north of the 27N in the wake of the front.
