A cold front extends from the Florida Panhandle to northeast Mexico. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds west of the front and moderate to fresh winds east of the front. Seas are in the 4-7 ft range west of the front and 1-3 ft east of the front. The front will reach from Central Florida to the Bay of Campeche early today, and move south of the area tonight. High pres will build in the wake of the front. The next cold front will move into the northern waters late Sat night, reaching the far southeast waters late Sun night. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds over the central Caribbean, moderate to fresh winds over the eastern Caribbean, and gentle to moderate winds over the western Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Seas are in the 6-8 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 1-3 ft over the western Caribbean, and 5-7 ft over the remainder of the Caribbean waters except for the Atlantic passages to the Caribbean where seas were in the 8-11 ft range. Over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones, 8-11 ft seas prevail. The large northerly swell propagating south through the northeastern Caribbean passages, and through the tropical waters east of the Lesser Antilles, will gradually subside through the remainder of this week. Fresh to strong trades will prevail across the south- central Caribbean through the upcoming weekend. Gale conditions are possible along the northwest coast of Colombia on Sat night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Fresh to strong winds prevail over the northwest waters ahead of a cold front that has just moved off the coast of the SE United States. Gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 8-18 ft rand outside the Bahamas in northerly swell. West of the Bahamas, seas are in the 1-3 ft range. The large northerly swell will continue across the open waters through mid- week. A cold front just off Northeast Florida will shift eastward today, with near gale force to minimal gale conditions developing north of 28N east of the front today. The front will reach from Bermuda to the Central Cuba on Thu morning, and reach from 27N65W to Hispaniola on Fri morning. A second cold front will move east across the waters north of the Bahamas on Thu, and merge with the first cold front across the tropical waters north of Puerto Rico late Fri.
