Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds over the SW Gulf, and gentle to moderate elsewhere. Seas are in the 3-5 ft range over the western Gulf, and 2-4 ft over the eastern Gulf. High pres will prevail over the forecast waters today before retreating eastward by tonight. This will enable a cold front to enter the NW Gulf. The front will shift across the forecast waters through the week, then SE of the area Thu. High pres will build in the wake of the front. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds prevail across much of the forecast waters...except in the lee of eastern Cuba and Hispaniola where moderate to fresh winds prevail. Seas are in the 3-5 ft range over much of the Caribbean, except for the Mona and Anegada passages where seas are in the 8-12 ft range. Over the tropical N Atlc waters, seas are in the 6-8 ft range over the southern forecast zones, and 8 to 14 ft over the northern forecast zones. Large northerly swell will penetrate the ATLC passages, reaching the A-B-C Islands and coastal Venezuela, while also propagating through the Tropical N ATLC waters through mid- week. A weakening cold front from the NE Caribbean to 15N76W will dissipate tonight. Fresh to strong winds will develop over the Central Caribbean mid-week. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...
