A ridge will build across the northern Gulf Sun and Mon. Another cold front may move slowly into the NW Gulf Mon night. A reinforcing shot of cold air catching up to the front will propel it across the basin by Wed evening. Strong N winds could develop behind the front Wed night and Thu. Intense 974 mb low pressure centered over the NW Atlc near 36N65W will produce large and dangerous N swell that will penetrate the NE Caribbean Passages Sun through late Wed, reaching the A-B-C Islands and coastal Venezuela. The low will drag a cold front into the northern Caribbean Sat night which will gradually dissipate by Tue. Model guidance continues to suggest a sharp trough of low pressure rotating around the low will produce another round of gales over the waters N of 27N between 55W and 65W Mon night and Tue morning. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extends from 26N65W to northern Cuba near 23N80W. Strong to gale force winds prevail N of the front. The front will shift SE of the area Sun as gale conditions shift E of the area.
