A cold front extends from south Florida to 26N88W then stationary to the SW Gulf. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds over the NE Gulf with gentle to moderate winds prevailing elsewhere. Seas are in the 5-6 ft range over the NW Gulf, 3-5 ft over the NE Gulf, and 1-3 ft elsewhere. The stationary front will dissipate today as the cold front sinks southward into the Straits of Florida this afternoon before dissipating. A ridge will build across the northern Gulf Sun and Mon. Another cold front may move into the NW Gulf Mon night, moving across the basin through Wed. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds off the coast of Colombia, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 5-8 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 1-2 ft over the NW Caribbean, and 3-5 ft elsewhere across the Caribbean waters. Seas in the 6-7 ft range prevail over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. Large NE swell will impact the tropical Atlantic waters through today. A low pressure system will deepen across the NW Atlc through the weekend and produce a large N swell that will penetrate the NE Caribbean Passages Sun through late Wed, reaching the A-B-C Islands and coastal Venezuela. The low will drag a cold front into the northern Caribbean Sat night, gradually dissipating through early next week. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extends from 28N65W to south Florida. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate strong to gale force winds prevail behind the front. The front will shift southeast of the area Sunday with gale force conditions shifting east of the area.
