A cold front extends from Louisiana to near Tampico Mexico. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds west of the front with light to gentle winds prevailing elsewhere. Seas are in the 4-6 ft range west of the front, and 1-3 ft elsewhere. A reinforcing front will merge with the cold front over the Gulf of Mexico today. The merged fronts will reach from central Gulf along 25N to near Veracruz Mexico Fri night, then dissipate across the W portion while the E portion of front sinks S into the Straits of Florida Sat afternoon then dissipates. A ridge will build across the northern Gulf Sun and Mon. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds off the coast of Colombia, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-8 ft range off the coast of Colombia, 1-3 ft over the NW Caribbean, 4-6 ft elsewhere across the Caribbean, and 8-9 ft over the tropical N Atlc forecast zones. A low pressure system will develop across the NW Atlc today through the weekend and produce a large N swell that will penetrate the NE Caribbean Passages Sun through late Mon, reaching the A-B-C Islands and coastal Venezuela. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front has moved off the SE coast of the United States into the far NW waters. Latest satellite derived winds and seas along with surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds west of the front as well as N of 30N and E of the front to 67W. Light to gentle winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-8 ft range outside the Bahamas, and 1-3 ft west of the Bahamas. A reinforcing front will merge with this cold front tonight, with strong to gale force winds prevailing north of 24N east of 75W. The merged fronts, and associated area of gale force winds will shift E of the area Sun.
