High pressure NE of the area in the west-central Atlantic and low pressure in northern South America is maintaining strong trade winds east of 80W, including Atlc passages, and is expected to persist through at least Thu morning. Minimal gale force winds will continue near the coast of Colombia through Sun night. Model guidance indicates the Atlantic high will weaken later this week, allowing the strength and size of this area of high winds and seas to slowly decrease through the weekend.
