A cold front moving off the Texas coast will stall over the central Gulf through into Sat as high pressure behind the front translates eastward. The western portion of front will lift northward across the northwest Gulf through late Sat. This may support areas of showers and thunderstorms across much of the northwest and north central Gulf late Sat into early Sun, and into the northeast Gulf through mid day Sun. A weak pressure pattern will follow through Sun night across the Gulf. Zonal flow aloft will allow only a weak frontal boundary to enter the northern Gulf Mon and dissipate, with another weak front late Wed. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... The pressure gradient between Atlantic high pressure and persistent low pressure over northwest Colombia will support nocturnal gale force winds along the northwest coast of Colombia this morning with maximum seas of 14 ft. The pressure gradient will then relax some tonight, with the pressure tightening again on by late Sat with nocturnal gale conditions resuming again on through early next week. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Recent buoy observations and altimeter data indicated 7 to 9 ft seas over open waters east of the Bahamas. This is likely due to NE swell entering the area. Weak ridging is supporting gentle to moderate E to SE winds north of 22N, and moderate to fresh E winds south of 22N. A cold front will move off the northeast coast of Florida this morning, reach from Bermuda to South Florida by early Sat followed by fresh to occasionally strong northerly winds. The front will stall along 25N Sat night then front will lift north of the area late Sun ahead of another cold front moving off the northeast Florida coast Sun night.
