Satellite-derived sea height data from around 14Z indicated 13 ft seas in the straits near 82W. Low pres S of Louisiana will quickly move across the NE Gulf Sun and drag a cold front across the eastern Gulf waters through Mon morning. Gales are expected behind the front near Veracruz on Mon night. Most of the models as well as the latest short range ensemble forecast support this forecast scenario for the SW Gulf. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Strong high pres N of the region will maintain fresh to strong trades across much of the basin through at least Mon. Winds will increase to minimal gale force near the coast of Colombia tonight and Mon night, then again on Wed night. Expect fresh to strong winds in the lee of Cuba and across the Windward Passage through Sun, and across the tropical Atlc waters through early Mon morning.
