A N to S orientated trough currently across the NW and W-Central Gulf waters will move W inland E Texas and NE Mexico this afternoon. The trough is accompanied 20-25 kt winds which will diminish to 15 kt briefly late this afternoon. The pressure gradient will then tighten with fresh SE return flow setting up across the western Gulf tonight, ahead of a cold front moving SE off the Texas coast late Sun night. The cold front will extend from the Mississippi Delta to Veracruz Mexico late Mon, and then stall from SW Florida to near Veracruz Mexico on Tue night. Remnants of the front will lift N on Wed, with strong NE winds developing across the NW Gulf waters. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A frontal trough extending SW from the E Cuba to 16N83W will gradually dissipate today. However, fresh to strong NE winds will continue across the Caribbean approach to the Windward Passage, and to the lee of Cuba through late morning. Strong to near gale force trades will pulse along the NW coast of Colombia through Wed night, except increasing briefly to minimal gale force late tonight. Strong NE to E winds will spread N across the Central Caribbean waters today and on Sun, then diminish some on Mon. Moderate to fresh trades will continue across the tropical Atlc waters E of the Windwards through Wed night with seas building to 8 ft on Sun on Mon. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extends SW from 30N55W to 23N65W, then becomes quasi-stationary to E Cuba. Locally strong NE winds will continue to pulse across the Atlc approach to the Windward Passage through Wed. The dissipating stationary front will meander from near 23N65W to E Cuba through Sun, then drift NW across the Old Bahama Channel on Sun night and Mon, as a NE to SW orientated trough, which should dissipate by Tue. Expect fresh to strong NE-E flow, and seas to 6 ft near this trough. A surface high currently near 30N79W will shift E along 30N today, reaching a position S of Bermuda on Sun, where it will meander through Mon, then shift N of Bermuda on Mon night allowing a cold front to move off the NE Florida coast at sunrise on Tue.
