A stationary front extends W from the Straits of Florida to a weak surface low at 25N96W. The low will move NNW along 97W today dragging the front N as a warm front across the Central Gulf becoming stationary along 27N tonight into Wed. Fresh to locally strong NE winds are forecast N of the stationary front which will likely be accompanied by convection and patchy dense fog along its boundary. Guidance suggests that another frontal wave low will develop briefly along the stalled front near 28N89W on Thu. This low will shift SE on Fri, then move slowly E across Florida along 28N during the upcoming weekend, followed by a strong cold front that race E across the Gulf on Sun and Mon. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Expect strong trades over the Central and SW Caribbean through Thu night, with near gale force nocturnal winds near the coast of Colombia tonight. The pressure gradient will relax on Fri night with fresh trades expected across the Eastern Caribbean through the upcoming weekend. Fresh to locally strong NE winds are expected through the Windward Passage this evening. Large E swell, in the form of 7 to 9 ft seas, will reach the E Atlc passages this evening, and continue through Thu evening, then subside from the N with seas of 6-8 ft forecast across the tropical waters E of the Windwards from Fri through Sun. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front stalling from 31N69W to the Straits of Florida will gradually weaken with the frontal remnants lifting N as a weak warm front tonight into Wed. Expect a frontal wave low to develop along the front near 31N79W by early Thu, and move E along 31N while dragging a new cold front SE through the Central Bahamas. The tightening pressure gradient will support strong to near gale force N-NE winds NW of the low pressure. Guidance suggests another surface low will develop near 31N78W on Thu night, and race ENE passing N of Bermuda on Fri night.
