Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

A surface trough extends north to south over the central Gulf.
Latest surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds in
the vicinity of the trough with gentle moderate winds prevailing
elsewhere. Seas are in the 3-4 ft range in the vicinity of the
trough, and 2-3 ft elsewhere. A cold front will move into the
western Gulf Thursday and merge with the trough before stalling
and dissipating from near the Florida panhandle to Tampico,
Mexico Friday and Saturday. 

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W... 

A broad trough prevails over the western Caribbean. Latest 
surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds off the coast
of Nicaragua, as well as over the south central Caribbean.
Moderate to fresh winds prevail elsewhere across the Caribbean as
well as the tropical N Atlantic forecast zones. Seas are in the
4-7 ft range off the coast of Nicaragua as well as the south
central Caribbean, and 3-5 ft elsewhere across the Caribbean.
Seas are in the 5-6 ft range over the tropical N Atlantic waters.
The trough will continue to prevail over the next several days.
Fresh to strong winds will prevail over the south central
Caribbean through Thursday before diminishing on Friday. 

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

A surface trough extends from the southeast Bahamas to eastern
Cuba, with high pressure prevailing over the northern waters. Latest
surface observations indicate moderate to fresh winds over the
waters S of 25N and gentle to moderate N of 25N. Outside the
Bahamas, seas are in the 4-5 ft range S of 25N and 3-4 ft N of 
25N outside, while 1-2 ft seas prevail west of the Bahamas. The
surface trough will linger through midweek before dissipating as
high pressure builds across the area. A broad trough will develop
over the eastern waters Thursday and Friday.
