Low pressure prevails over the southeast Gulf. Latest surface observations indicate moderate to locally fresh winds prevail, except over the SW Gulf where gentle to moderate winds prevail. Seas are in the 2-3 ft range over much of the Gulf, with seas reaching near 5 ft locally in regions where fresh winds prevail. The trough will drift slowly westward through Wed night and likely merge with a cold front moving into the NW Gulf late Thu into Thu night and Friday. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A broad trough prevails over the western Caribbean. Latest surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds prevail across the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlantic forecast zones. Seas are in the 4-6 ft range over the central Caribbean, 3-5 ft over the eastern Caribbean, 2-4 ft over the western Caribbean, and 5-6 ft over the tropical N Atlantic forecast zones. The broad trough is expected to continue to prevail over the western Caribbean the next several days.
