Fresh SE return flow is observed currently over the northwest Gulf with seas reaching 7 ft, north of the ridge reaching from central Florida to Tampico Mexico. The ridge will retreat eastward through tonight as a cold front moves into the NW Gulf. The front will extend from Pensacola Florida to Brownsville Texas early Sunday, from Ft Myers Florida to Veracruz Mexico early Monday, then push south of the Gulf and weaken through early Tuesday. Fresh to strong N to NE winds will prevail north and west of the front Sunday with seas building to 8-10 ft. Winds will reach gale force south of 25N west of 95W along the Mexican coastal waters Sun and Sun night. Marine conditions will improve significantly Mon and Tue as the front progresses east- southeastward. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Fresh NE winds are ongoing between a trough over the central Caribbean between SW Haiti and Cartagena Colombia, and high pressure north of the region. These winds will diminish later today as the high pressure shifts eastward. Expect for the trough to remain nearly stationary in the central Caribbean for a couple more days, then weaken and eventually dissipate Mon and Tue. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A stalled frontal boundary reaching from 25N65W to northeast Hispaniola has weakened to a trough. A scatterometer pass from earlier this morning indicated fresh NE winds within 400 nm on the north side of the trough, with seas to 8 ft outside of the Bahamas, between the trough and 1020 mb high pressure off the Carolinas. The winds and seas will diminish through tonight as the high pressure weakens and shifts eastward. The trough will linger over southeast waters this weekend, then weaken Monday. A cold front will move off the NE Florida coast Sun afternoon, extend from Bermuda to the Straits of Florida by early Mon, before stalling Tue and lifting northward again through mid week.
